A message from our artistic director

Dear friends,

Lucky Plush’s ongoing success throughout our 20-year history would not be possible without your support.

Now, help us DREAM BIG and catapult us to our next milestone! Support the mission of Lucky Plush–to create and tour the smart, funny, socially relevant dance-theater you’ve come to love.

Lucky Plush has developed 30 original works, toured to 55+ US cities, and performed in 20+ Chicago neighborhoods, establishing a robust and supportive national network. We have a diverse, tight-knit ensemble, and we recruit 40+ volunteers annually through our innovative administrative practices.

In the past year, Lucky Plush reinstated our open company classes and premiered Rink Life at Steppenwolf 1700 Theatre. Critics lauded the show as “refreshing,” “contemplative,” and “continuously unexpected.”

In the upcoming year, Lucky Plush will begin working on its first project geared towards intergenerational audiences: a show inspired by the fantastical world-building of children’s literature. Lucky Plush will also launch an educational initiative to reach students at Chicago Public High Schools.

But we need your help! Join us as a collaborator, and please consider donating a gift today for a stronger Lucky Plush.

With love,

Volunteer Cultivation Lab

With the significant endorsement and financial support of Chicago’s lead funders through Arts Work Fund, Volunteer Cultivation Lab is Lucky Plush’s newest sustainability initiative. In activating a network of diverse student and high-level professional volunteers, VCL dramatically increases the organizational and creative output of LPP without a corresponding surge in expense. VCL simultaneously enriches the Chicago arts sector by boosting community engagement with the arts

CREATIVE PARTNERS

Creative Partners is a collaborative effort to provide professional fundraising for Chicago nonprofit arts organizations. Launched in 2013, Creative Partners currently serves Lucky Plush and Joel Hall Dancers & Center, allowing each company to prioritize the artists whose projects drive their growth and generate the resources needed to make more and better work.
